Our Staff

KarenKaren Evans, PhD, has worked with Dentistry for Kids since the practice began in 2000. Her responsibilities include payroll, taxes, accounts receivable, and all-around supervision of tasks not assigned elsewhere. The office mascot, Bella, the Evanses' black standard poodle, stays with Karen in her office. A retired university professor specializing in American literature and writing, she has found the challenges of a dental office an interesting learning experience. Karen's hobbies have included weaving, gardening, golf, and reading.


SueSue Coleman is a business assistant for Dentistry for Kids. A former teacher and counselor, Sue has been a Santa Fe resident for 12 years. She has two daughters, one a resident of Las Cruces and one completing college in Arizona.. An avid hiker, she looks for opportunities to enjoy the wonderful climate and landscape ofNM, and uses most of her spare time pursuing her love of music with various local groups. She finds our office the perfect place to continue to share in the lives of children of all ages.


CarolynDiana Montano, a Santa Fe native, has been a dental assistant since 2002. She graduated with honors from Pima Medical Institute of Albuquerque in 2001. Diana did her clinical work in oral surgery and has worked in general and pediatric dentistry in California before joining Dentistry for Kids in April of 2008.

Diana is married with five children, ranging in age from 10 to 20, and enjoys cooking, reading dancing, music, and family time. Her enjoyment in the office comes from making children feel comfortable, calm, and happy.


MariahMariah Salazar, a native of Santa Fe, Mariah graduated from Santa High School in 2000 and worked with the YMCA for three years, caring for the kindergarten children and working in the after-school program. In 2008 she graduated from the Santa Fe Community College dental program. Mariah thoroughly enjoys working with children and has many nieces and nephews who keep her active outside of the office. Besides hiking, she enjoys her dog Hershey. Mariah has worked with Dentistry for Kids since August, 2008, and aspires to further her skills in dentistry.


EileenEileen Jimenez, originally from Pecos, New Mexico, and now living in Tesuque, Eileen was a Certified Nursing Assistant for 15 years, caring for the elderly. When she decided to make a career change, she opted for the pediatric dental field because of her interest in children. She says she loves being a dental assistant. Her two small dogs, Coco and Peanut, keep her busy at home, where she lives with her husband of 15 years. They both like to walk and ride horses in their free time.


Natalie MartinezNatalie Martinez grew up in Espanola and Cuba, New Mexico, graduating from Cube High School in 2000. She graduated from PIMA Medical Institute of Albuquerque with honors in 2009. Interested in dental assisting since she was a child, she especially enjoys working with the children in the office. The technical aspect of dentistry that interests her the most is orthodontics, and her professional goal is dental hygiene.

Natalie's hobbies include golf, cooking, swimming and hunting.


Keeble CarmichaelKeeble Carmichael, business assistant for Dentistry for Kids, joined our team to pursue an interest in improving the lives of children through compassionate dental care. Originally from Dallas, Texas, her educational training includes an undergraduate degree in foreign languages and graduate studies in international law, earned at Southern Methodist University School of Law.

Happily residing in Santa Fe for the past eight years, Keeble enjoys spending time with her two chihuahuas, Pico de Gallo and Jesus, and her Bengal cat, Vishnu. Other interests include designing jewelry, riding horses and reading.
