Kris W. Hendricks, DDS
Doctor Hendricks and his family moved to Santa Fe to join Dentistry for Kids. In July 2010, he purchased the office from Doctor Evans and began working with most every patient, allowing Doctor Evans to plan his retirement for early 2011.
Doctor Hendricks studied liberal arts and music at Brigham Young University before moving to Kansas City to begin his dental studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He was a four year scholarship recipient and graduated with honors in pediatric and restorative dentistry. Following dental school, Doctor Hendricks attended an intensive two year hospital residency in pediatric dentistry at St. Joseph Hospital for Specialty Care in Providence, Rhode Island. During residency, he became competent in all facets of pediatric dentistry, including surgery, sedation, treatment of trauma and orthodontics. Doctor Hendricks is board eligible specialist and member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a member of the American Dental Association and New Mexico Dental Association. He is a staff member at St. Vincent Hospital as well as the Physician’s Medical Center in Santa Fe.
Doctor Hendricks finds the relationships he develops with his patients and their family’s to be the best part of his work. He enjoys joking and telling children stories while he provides treatment to them; he wants his patients to enjoy their visits and develop a healthy relationship with dentistry.
As a parent of two young sons, he understands the unpredictability of life with children. He tries to make himself available for his patients whenever problems arise. He believes strongly in a preventative approach to dentistry combined with the most up to date science and technology.
Doctor Hendricks grew up in Littleton, Colorado and is married to Ginna Hendricks. Together they have 2 sons, Max and Sandy and a long haired German Shepard, Sultan.
James A. Evans, DDS, MS, FICD
Doctor Evans opened this dental office in Santa Fe in 2000 after moving to the area in 1996. He
had operated a children's dental practice in Northwest Indiana for 35 years. He earned his dental
degree at the Indiana University School of Dentistry and a master's degree in pediatric dentistry
from the University of Illinois School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental
Association, the New Mexico and Southwest Dental Associations, the Santa Fe District Dental
Society and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentists and the International
College of Dentists. He is a staff member at St. Vincent's Hospital.
His greatest satisfaction comes from taking a recalcitrant young child with many dental problems and producing a child with a healthy mouth who is happy to see us at checkup time. Dr. Evans also enjoys working with a young child who has major orthodontic problems to either eliminate or diminish those problems over a period of time.
His two grown children live in other parts of the country. One is an accomplished studio artist, and the other one is a molecular biologist. The Evanses have two grandsons, who live in New York. His wife, Karen, who earned a Ph.D. in English from the University of Chicago, is retired from college teaching and now helps with administrative duties in the practice.
Dr. Evans has studied extensively over the years with the Southeast section of the Bioprogressive Institute of Craniofacial Development to further his knowledge of dental growth and development, as well as his orthodontic skills.
